The Athena Dizon-Tizon thing was very unrealistic. Plus the part at the end where BOTH girls have life threatening diseases and they both need him? And I still dont get how Athena fell inlove with Kenjie. He was mostly rude, mean and indifferent towards her.
They say they like being at the hub of gang life. They like knowing what is going on in different gangs and being welcome at the houses where gang members congregate. Most women who date gangsters do not see other men. But those who do say jealousy and possessiveness dictate that the gangsters never learn about the indiscretion. And she still drinks beer with the homeboys. But she hangs out with gangsters who are “down,” those who are less active than younger members.

My cousin spent about 7 years in prison. The first time he got out, he more or less talked like that. Called everybody “nibba” and more or less sounded like he was reading the script for Oz for a little bit.
Based on the novel by Bianca Bernardino, She’s Dating the Gangster follows teenagers Athena and Kenji , two students caught in a romantic cliché as old as cinema.
His actions, behavior, and reasons for doing things all remain the same the entire film, as does the viewer’s view of him. With DeStefano’s thorough research, readers can understand how John Gotti rose to power from his humble beginnings as a street thug and why he had so much influence on the American criminal underworld. The book offers readers an intimate look into the life of one of the most recognizable names in crime and law enforcement history.

I have no sympathy for characters that tolerate rough treatment or even a bit of misdemeanor from guys. A more understandable and expected reaction from the character would be to keep distance and enjoy the view, not allow herself to suffer the experience when she knows it’s coming. I think guys who are habitually mean are ill-bred and lack the respect entitled to others. Having said that, I have no sympathy for Athena who allows herself to be bullied by her pretend boyfriend Kenji, the school «gangster». Yeah the gangster is hot, but no one is ever hot enough to earn the right to be mean.

And fun is what “Mayfair Witches” needs more of. It’s there in some of the performances, http://thedatingpros.com/waplog-review/ like Hamlin’s and Grant’s. And maybe in the succeeding episodes it will.
I was able to finish the Wattpad story before its commercial run in theaters. I would say that Star Cinema bravely gambled on putting slight changes yet sticking to how the story will flow from the fiction story itself. What I liked is how the feelings developed between two characters without being too pushy. I can’t help but smile every time she smiles. No two love stories are exactly the same, moreso the intricacies behind each one.
Highly recommended to watch it with good friends or with a loved one. Safe to say “She’s Dating The Gangster” is Filipino mainstream movie at its best and years from now will be regarded as a timeless classic. The story of young women who date gang members may seem like any romantic teen-age adventure—of partying all night and sleeping most of the day. But because a gangster’s life is so consuming, his girlfriend can find the life style inescapable.
Shouldn’t have given it any star at all.. I read this book only because of the news that it’ll be adapted into a movie featuring Kathniel.. Ok, the characters may be good, but the whole story plot is like.. Since it’s highly recommended by some girlfriends, I found myself really disappointed after finishing the book. I was not even halfway and I’m already asking a friend to just narrate the rest of the story to me. Although it’s lengthy, I mustered all my might to finish it in the hopes that the good parts were to come.
That’s what Chick Lit is all about, right? I’m not looking for a happily ever after, but at least something that would empower women not make you depress or fuming mad at the end. He’s hotheaded, never seems to agree with her on anything—and everything about him screams gangster. However, as a dramatic storytelling choice, the “young” Nikos keeps showing up all over the film during critical life moments for Nikos’s adult criminal. This may signify that the abuse he suffered at the hands of his father stunted his social and emotional growth. Nikos consumes life like a child who was never told no.
